ABOUT THE WORLD ASSEMBLY OF YOUTHThe World Assembly of Youth (WAY) is the international coordinating body of national youth councils and organizations. The full members of WAY are national youth councils. WAY has over 120 member organizations from all continents of the world.

Collection consisting of documents relating to Council meetings and meetings of the General Assembly 1952-1964; documents relating to conferences and seminars 1957-1962; circulars 1954-1962; press releases, reports by the documentation centre and other documents 1957-1972; documents of the Latin American.
Founded in London in 1948 as an international youth organization coordinating democratic national youth councils; based on the Universal Declaration of Human Rights of the United Nations and without ideological premises, WAY aims at the solution of specific youth problems in all parts of the world; its services include training courses and technical assistance; WAY has a consultative status with the UNESCO, UNICEF and the Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO) and cooperates also with the Council of Europe, the International Labour Organization (ILO) and the World Health Organization (WHO).
WAY recognizes the Universal Declaration of Human Rights as the basis of its action and services. It works for the promotion of youth and youth organizations in programme areas such as: democracy, environment, human rights, population, health, drugs, community development and leadership training.
