The exchange of fire between police and militants continued on Sunday in Pawakai area of Peshawar, reported.

More special police units have been called for the operation against the militants.

According to Geo News, three militants and one policeman were killed during exchange of fire between law enforcement agencies and militants who were hiding in an under-construction house since 7 AM. The exchange took place after the police reached the area four hours after they were informed.

AP adds: Police officer Shafqat Malik says the militants are holed up in a village 3 kilometers (2 miles) from the airport. He says one police officer and one militant died in the fighting Sunday morning.

An eyewitness told local TV five militants were holed up in an unfinished house in the village. He did not provide his name.
